Kingfisher Brixham was founded in 1984 by Nick Summersby after he had successfully started selling fish to local restaurants and hotels directly from Brixham market.
The company quickly grew and expanded and by the early 1990s we were delivering fresh Brixham fish as far a field as North Yorkshire. Kingfisher continued to grow until we were acquired by Seafood Holdings Limited in 2008.
The Kingfisher name has become a Kitemark for fresh quality seafood throughout England.
Nick is now semi-retired but still plays a role as our buyer of frozen fish. Marc Shipton now manages the BRC5 A-grade, EEC-approved depot, assisted by Gary Goddard (Sales Manager) and Les Daniels (Purchasing Manager).
We provide the freshest local fish where possible, sustainably sourced. We also offer shellfish and other speciality products from around the world.
